3 Key Points:

  • We cannot plan out our life in theory, like on a whiteboard, and decide how it’s going to be.
  • Coming up with ideas, and being creative, is something entrepreneurs are really, really good at.
  • Everyone who has something that we desire to have as an inspiration for us, look around, look at people who do what we would love to do, and be inspired.

Show Notes:

[00:45] You just have to go and trust that your listener or your participant or your client will get the best out of it because what I’ve noticed is that we don’t know what we don’t know.

[2:40] We cannot plan out our life in theory, like on a whiteboard, and decide how it’s going to be. We can set intentions, we can have strategies, we can make plans.

[3:24] Maybe you want to look at to what kind of degree what degree of perfectionism are you following because when you trust that your clients will get the right thing out of it, you will be amazed how much easier it is

[5:28] We just talk about the wins, but we do not talk about really how we got there. We do not talk about the challenges enough. And we do not talk about our emotional world enough.

[8:40] Everyone who has something that I desire to have is an inspiration for me.

[9:25] Don’t get stuck in these emotions, the sweat, the fear, let them wash over you and then make a decision to decide.

[11:03] To the challenges you might have on your path, just plan a little bit more time, things always take longer than you think, don’t need to get stressed because when we are not stressed, we are more creative.

[12:24] Be prepared for change, be prepared, that you might pivot one here and there. And be okay with that plan a little bit more time, and just trust that you are perfect, you are good enough to do what you want to do.

[13:40] If you tweak and you change it a little bit, you adjust, but you keep moving forward with this one thing your efforts will pay off, the worst thing is that you can do is then go to the next shiny object.

[16:30] Get your clarity, figure out who your ideal client is.

[17:34] Stop comparing yourself. And really make sure you take good self care, and just go for it.

Christine Schlonski [0:02]
Hi Gorgeous. This is episode number 290. You are listening to Heart Sells! Podcast. I’m your host, Christine Schlonski. And it is variety Friday. I’m so pumped you’re here, variety Friday is the day where I do share resources, where I answer your questions, where also share what I have learned on my journey and, you know, give you some tips and advice of what has worked in high ticket selling and what has not. So sharing my experience with you. And I have to admit, for a little while now, those variety Fridays are actually the most challenging episodes I’m doing for you. And I know you love them so much because I do get really, really great feedback. But coming up these topics coming up with what I can give you from my experience that actually serves you is not always that easy.

Christine Schlonski [1:00]
Oftentimes, I delay recording, because I’m not quite sure what to talk about. So I just thought I make this a topic today because you might be in the same boat with something else. When you’re starting to create an online course you’re not quite sure what you should be teaching, or how you should structure it. And there are all these questions. And I just started to prepare for my next summit that will be in December, called The Heart Centered Business Building Summit. And why putting together the curriculum, I got so much clarity about why people are having challenges in their businesses. Why are they struggling? And you know, this actually has to do with this episode not finding the ideal topic, right? Because we might think we want to make it perfect, right, we want to deliver the best experience we can, which is all great and noble.

Christine Schlonski [1:57]
But sometimes you just have to go and trust that your listener or your participant or your client will get the best out of it. Because what I’ve noticed is that we don’t know what we don’t know. Right? So we can’t even think about it. And once we start doing, we will bump into these challenges into the obstacles into the hidden walls. And sometimes the walls are not that hidden, but we still bump in. And we have to learn why we are doing things, right. We cannot plan out our life in theory, like on a whiteboard, and decide how it’s going to be. We can set intentions, we can have strategies, we can make plans. And then we still have to execute otherwise, we will not find out what works and what doesn’t work. So finding ideas for episodes is not that easy. And maybe you have the same challenge with your blog, or maybe you having a Facebook community and you’re thinking of what could I post. And these are things that obviously you need to kind of wrap your head around so that it works. But also maybe you want to look at what kind of degree what degree of perfectionism are you following. Because when you trust that your clients will get the right thing out of it, you will be amazed at how much easier it is and how much weight you are taking off off your shoulders.

Christine Schlonski [3:38]
So several times where I wrote my newsletter, for example, or I made an episode for you here on variety Fridays, I wasn’t quite sure if this is going to land. And you know, I was sitting there and thinking like, should I publish or not publish? And, you know, then I just did it because I was like, well, you know, I put all the work in. There’s a lot of love in this. I really do care. And I hope that one person is going to get something out of it. If just one person is inspired, it’s already worth sitting down and doing that work. And interestingly enough, oftentimes when I had these feelings where I wanted to talk myself out of it, where I wanted to have or develop a different strategy or start a new project, or rewrite the newsletter or retake the podcast episode, those are oftentimes the ones where I get the best feedback on some thinking here, what can I talk to you about today?

Christine Schlonski [4:42]
At the same time, you know, the little negative voice in my head goes off and says well, you’ve covered already so many topics. You probably can’t think of anything smart today. And then the little positive voice comes out and says, of course, you can do it. Let’s have a look at the podcast schedule, who was a guest on today’s show? And what did they teach about? So what could you take and amplify on it? So it’s like this conversation in my head all the time. So I just decided to start recording because I know that something I will say today is probably going to serve someone. And I also feel in entrepreneurship, oftentimes, we just talk about the wins, but we do not talk about really how we got we’ve gotten there. We do not talk about the challenges enough. And we do not talk about our emotional world enough.

Christine Schlonski [5:39]
Just the other day, I had an amazing, amazing interview with Gabe Arnold, you know, he was published here on Heart Sells! Podcast, with episode 285, and 286. And a little bit after I saw him on Facebook live, where he talked about having anxiety because of a new project. And he wanted to share that with his community. Because this is a fact that’s often overlooked. And I thought, Yeah, right. This is so true. I did share about a big learning I had the other day in my Heart Sells! Member’s Community, that’s not even officially launched yet. But we’ll be pretty soon. And I think it was really, really helpful for people to not do the same mistake. So talking about the emotional world we are going through as an entrepreneur, obviously, there are wins, they’re super, super exciting times. But they’re also scary times, there are times when we do not feel as confident as we would love to feel, or where we are starting to question ourselves, right?

Christine Schlonski [6:47]
If something isn’t working for you, and then let’s just say your friend comes along, and they also have a business. And she’s just celebrating a huge win because she made two or three amazing sales. What usually happens with us is, we are excited for that person but at the same time we go within and we ask us, okay, so why am I not where she is. And you might forget that she already started her business four years prior to when you started. And she has already done all the other work to be at this point where she is now. And you’re kind of comparing apples with oranges, it doesn’t really make sense. So coming up with ideas, and being creative, is something entrepreneurs are really, really good at. That’s probably one thing that got you into entrepreneurship, because you thought, well, I can do this too. I have a ton of ideas, I can get really, really creative. And I want to serve people my way. And then we kind of get stuck.

Christine Schlonski [7:56]
So I hope this makes sense to you. And you know, speaking from my heart and really wanting for you to know that nobody is perfect on this planet. And oftentimes we just capture or see people when they are at their best. Which is amazing, right? We love to celebrate with people while actually, I love to celebrate with people. I have erased the word envy in my language a long, long time ago. Because I figured I’m not envious of people. I’m not jealous. Which by the way, I also erased in my dictionary in my language, because I celebrate with them. Everyone who has something that I desire to have is an inspiration for me. So look around you look at people who do what you would love to do and be inspired. Have that look, how are they conducting their sales calls? How do they get their soulmate clients to say yes, all the time? And what goes into it? Right? Don’t just look at the shiny objects. Also look at the not so shiny objects, right?

Christine Schlonski [9:09]
The sweat, the fear, but like everything we put in to get to that point. And just be okay with it to feel emotions that are not so pleasant. But don’t get stuck in these emotions, let them wash over you and then make a decision to decide. You are now going to believe something else. Right there. I said that pretty recently that I had this emotional roller coaster going on. Because I compared myself to someone who’s way far more advanced than I am. I know I have the potential and I’m on my way but they have just you know, some more years that they already have put them into their business. So obviously, they’re at a point now where things are easier for them because they have created that tribe, they have done all the work.

Christine Schlonski [10:05]
And so my coaches were like, what, Christine, get off that pity party. And I was like, oh my goodness, that’s exactly what’s going on right now. I am kind of in a pity party, like not acknowledging what I have done so far, not honoring the path I have taken, and the work I have done and the successes I have had. And you know, the deep valleys I have been through because I’m comparing a shiny object where I just know the results. But you know, I didn’t, I didn’t really consider what it took to get there. And thinking, well, I should be further along, right. So as Tony Robbins always said, don’t shoot all over yourself, well stop shooting all over yourself. And when you do, catch the moment, and then stop as soon as possible, because it’s not serving you.

Christine Schlonski [11:01]
So coming back to, to the challenges you might have on your path, just plan a little bit more time, things always take longer than you think. And then you don’t need to get stressed because when we are not stressed, we are more creative, right? Stress really shuts us down. And I talked to you in my last episode that I’ve gotten pretty sick for, like two full days, I couldn’t get out of bed, because I felt so poorly. And this was not of my body, I’m in healthy shape. This was because of my mind. Right? I probably was completely overworked. And I didn’t realize it because I enjoyed it so much that I didn’t do the best self-care. And then my body just told me Well, you didn’t see the signs, here you have it. And that resulted in two complete hours and bad feeling miserable. And you know, this is just not smart. So please, don’t go down that path. really understand and get your clarity on what you want to achieve.

Christine Schlonski [12:09]
Put your steps in place. And you don’t need to map out all the steps because sometimes the universe is going to hand you some lemons. So you better be prepared to make some lemon juice, right, and you might get some oranges and you need to make some orange juice. So be prepared for change, be prepared, that you might pivot one here and there. And be okay with that plan a little bit more time. And just trust that you are perfect, you are good enough to do what you want to do. And one person in your audience, just one person, for sure will get your message. And that one person can be your messenger.

Christine Schlonski [12:55]
That person can be your ambassador, like Dallas Travers, in this week’s episodes talk so nicely about so check out 288 and 289, with Dallas where she talked about her referral system, right, you just have to start with one person. And that leads to the next step to the next. But what you also have to do and what I’m realizing every time, I’m getting onto too many projects, so that I’m too excited. And you know that I get myself in trouble because my body might be shutting off. Just stay with this one thing. And even though sometimes things don’t seem to work if you tweak and you change it a little bit, you adjust, but you keep moving forward with this one thing your efforts will pay off, the worst thing is that you can do is then go to the next shiny object, give that a try for three or four weeks, go to the next shiny object. This has not led to success for anyone I know. And I know quite a few people. So you want to make sure that you get clarity on what you desire. you map out a plan, what is your message? Who is your message for and then you just talk to these people? You give your message to these people and you need to be really, really clear and strategic so that your message has that impact. Right?

Christine Schlonski [14:31]
It doesn’t help you when you teach, for example, I don’t know diet, diets, or when you do healing work. And then all of a sudden, you are only targeting people who are interested in learning about real estate investment. Right, that doesn’t go together. So obviously you want to target people who want to lose weight or who need some healing, or whatever you do. So be really, really clear and And then put the first steps in place. And then really go for it. And you know, adjust your metrics if you have to, but watch your metrics, what you pay attention to that will expand, right where you give your energy that will expand. And I can tell you from experience, like, even with this beautiful podcast, every time I get some feedback, every time someone says, well, I love your podcast, or this podcast is such an inspiration, or I listened to so many episodes, or whatever it is, right? That just lights me up, which puts me on fire that helps me to move forward. And that also helps me in the situations, when I’m not really sure what we should be talking about today. It’s already again, variety Friday, like what could be my topic, these messages helped me because I think of those people. And I think about the struggles they might have, and what I could share to support them.

Christine Schlonski [15:11]
What I have learned where I had my experiences, my successes, and my failures, and how can I share that with you guys. So you have a shortcut, so to speak, you don’t need to go down that path that where I already bumped my face into a wall, you don’t need to put your face right next to it, you can just avoid it. So get clarity. Again, here, three steps, get your clarity, figure out who your ideal client is your soulmate client, as you probably know by now how I call them, and give them as many attributes as you can be really, really clear on what kind of character they have, how they behave, what are the questions they would ask, what are the questions, they will definitely not ask, what is the investment they can make with you? And how do you want them to show up, like get all of that clarity? And then go to a place where these people hang out and take the best care that you can offer your clients.

Christine Schlonski [17:08]
Give them your unconditional love, help them to grow, help them to prosper. And in return, they will help you to grow and to prosper. And then it is such a beautiful win-win situation. It doesn’t need to be overly stressful. The beginning probably always is a little bit because we are figuring things out and we don’t know what we don’t know. But moving forward, you will learn. So stop comparing yourself. And really make sure you take good self-care, and just go for it. The world is waiting for you. So go.

Christine Schlonski [17:46]
