Love this podcast! The lifeblood of any business is sales and Christine does an amazing job of making sales something you'll fall in love with instead of dread. These podcasts are short and get staright to the point, filling you with both the knowledge and motivation to go out and bring in lots more money to your business by selling from your heart. [1:21] Having a positive self-talk, a positive conversation, where you talk yourself into the things you want to do will help you to overcome the obstacles on your way
[6:16] Give yourself that prep talk because you cannot sell anything to anyone that you can’t sell to yourself.
[6:25] If you are reluctant, if you are unsure, you need to get that clarity first so that when you are in the conversation, you have that opportunity to yourself to make the right offer to the right person at the right time
[8:30] The huge difference you can make for your business is when you change the percentage of conversion, which means if you are now having two people saying yes out of 10 people than just one person more will make a huge difference to your business.

Hey, Gorgeous. This is episode number 287. You’re listening to Heart Sells Podcast. I’m your host, Christine Schlonski. And it is variety Friday, I hope you had a wonderful, wonderful week, a successful week, a week where you got to serve many people, which also means many people have said yes to your amazing services and products. And life is just treating you beautiful. So today, I would love to talk to you about self-talk. I don’t know what kind of relationship you are having with self-talk. But I find that the way I grew up, like elderly people talked to themselves, right, because they did not have someone to talk to or there was just this chatter going on all of the time, they had the conversation, and most of them had a good time.
But as a child, or maybe from some remarks adults made, I got the belief that self-talk is just something that you don’t do, it’s not cool. And today, I believe that self-talk is the coolest thing. If you talk to yourself in the right way. And what do I mean in the right way? I mean, having a positive self-talk, a positive conversation, where you talk yourself into the things you want to do. And that helps you to overcome the obstacles on your way. Right, if you have a negative self-talk while then the spiral is just going down, and you will find evidence why you can’t do something, or why you probably won’t succeed and why it’s not even worth starting. Because you already know you won’t be successful. But when you turn it around, and it is a positive self talk, then it will have a big impact in your life.
As you probably know already, if you’re not completely new to my world, I love journaling. And I work a lot with journaling prompts, which is kind of a self-talk. And when you journal right, you’re not journaling out, like what you had for lunch today, or who you met, or who you called or anything, you are journaling out your reality, how do you want your life to be? And I highly suggest that you do the same with self-talk. So when you actually find sentences that help you, right, let’s just say you are about to call a client or a potential client, right? It’s your soulmate. And they have asked for a strategy call, or discovery call, or however you call the call that you want to sell in. And now you are a little bit nervous, right? It’s a person you don’t know, you don’t know those challenges you don’t know if you can help them support them.
So you are, you know, maybe a little bit nervous getting onto the call, and you’re having this conversation in your mind where what if right, or you saying something about hope they are perfect fit, I hope I can support them, I hope they’re gonna book. So what I suggest is having a really positive self-talk and prepping yourself and actually speaking it out loud, not just running it in your head, but speaking it out loud. So you could say, Oh, I am so excited to have a call with this person you put in the name. They probably are my soulmate client, because they have filled out my form. They’re interested in a call with me, they need my services and my products. And I’m really excited to get to talk to them.
I know I can probably help them to have a transformation to have a big change a positive change in their life. And so I’m really looking forward to this call. And I also know that I’m so confident in sales calls. I do know my stuff, that it is easy for me to guide the person through the conversation, to give them the space to really actively listen to what they have to say, and to understand their pain and to understand that dreams so that I can craft the best offer for them. And I can make an invitation. Right?
Do you see where I’m coming from? When you have this kind of conversation even though you might not be totally confident, even though you might kind of be scared of how to craft your offers or what to offer or transitioning into the offer. by preparing yourself, by getting yourself in the right state by positive self-talk. This will make a difference for you, in the sense calls. So basically, I am inviting you today to really try out positive conversation with yourself. And to practice that whenever you have a call coming up or whenever you go to a networking meeting, or whenever you have some kind of gathering with other people who could be potentially your soulmate client, then you need to be in perfect state, right?
You need to prep yourself. Because you also prep yourself with all your negative talk, right? When you still don’t feel confident about sales, when you feel scared about sales or sales is something that feels pushy and sleazy, then you just turn the conversation around and you say, Well, I know by selling to this person, by making them the invitation to buy, I offer for them the possibility of transformation, I offer to them the possibility of change, I offer to them the possibility to have a better business and a better life and more happiness, right, get really clear on your benefits. And give yourself that prep talk because you cannot sell anything to anyone that you can’t sell to yourself.
So if you are reluctant, if you are unsure, you need to get that clarity first so that when you are in the conversation, you have that opportunity to yourself to make the right offer to the right person at the right time, which will ensure that you are not coming against 10s of thousands of obstacles and objections and you need to worry about the tactics. But by setting it up already kind of energetically before, you will have much much better chances to be confident because we know that conviction sells. So when you are confident and viewer convinced that this is the best offer for your soulmate client, this is the best thing that can happen to them, then it’s so much easier for you to make that invitation and just say well, do you feel like this is a fit for you? It’s nothing complicated. It’s pretty simple. It’s just something you have to be prepared for that, obviously, in a sales conversation, you want to make a sale, if this is your soulmate client and you have the perfect offer for them.
I really, really hope this makes sense. And you will practice and you will really have a better conversion rate, which means that if you would call like 10 people or you would have 10 conversations, and then one person is saying yes, right? That’s a 10% conversion rate. If two people say yes, obviously it’s 20% conversion, right. And the energy you put in to talk to those 10 people will be the same, right, you probably do your posts, maybe you do reach out on LinkedIn, or maybe you do online summit podcasts, any form of events and networking.
So the energy you put out to get 10 people into a conversation will probably stay the same. But the huge difference you can make for your business is when you change the percentage of conversion, which means if you are now having two people saying yes out of 10 people than just one person more will make a huge difference to your business. And just imagine if two more people would say yes so that you had a 40 or 50% conversion rate, that would be the most amazing thing and your life would be so so much better. Because then your business really starts to thrive. You get to serve more people, you get to move to have more testimonials, more success stories. And all of that will help again, to get more people into your world, more people into calls with you. And then you know, you really have created a structure and the process that is so much easier for you.
But the basics of it all is actually your self-talk is so is start right there with positive self-talk that you know exactly you can support the person and then trust that you will say the right thing at the right time. Because as soon as you trust that the right thing will come to you. Then you can let go of the fear of what happens what if I stammer on my words, what happens if I don’t find the right words? What happens if that’s negative self Talk. So you let go of that you do the positive stuff that helps you to get prepared yourself. And then you just do it. I really, really hope this helps.
