3 Key Points:
- You want to be really, really clear, what is the intention for the call with the person that you probably don’t know yet.
- Create an environment you feel wonderful in. That does include a desk that is clean, that is tidy, that has the papers in the right order, or maybe no papers at all. Make space in your environment for you to have the call.
- Get your physical body into state. Get yourself into a great state where you are looking forward to enjoying the conversation.
[01:11] What I see over and over again, especially when talking to my clients is that they are kind of nervous when a strategy call or a discovery call, or however you want to call the call that is coming up to find out if you are talking to your ideal client, or soulmate client, as I call them.
[01:36] What you can do is, or what you need to do in the situation is that you need to lead the call because the person reaching out for help wanting to figure out if they can work with you have a challenge. Most likely you are the person that can help them to overcome the challenge. You also need to show up as the leader, even though you might not be as confident as you can be in these conversations, because sales still don’t feel like second nature.
[02:54] Set your intention and be really clear what you want it to be and that you are open to discover if the person is a match.
[03:40] Your goal should be to really make the invitation because you are the leader, you have something they need. So your goal is to make the invitation but you are not attached to the outcome.
[05:46] Clean up your desk, put out your angel cards or whatever you have your crystals. Get yourself some fresh flowers and really create an environment that you feel good in. That you also kind of a little bit of safety, because now you’re venturing out to talk to a stranger.
[08:56] Never go into a call where you fear kind of down When you feel drained or tired, prep yourself, prep your body and your mind and get your environment ready so that you can show up as the authentic person that you want to show up as.

Hey Gorgeous. This is episode number 146. You are listening to Heart Sells! Podcast. I’m your host, Christine Schlonski. It is for variety Friday. I am so pumped you are here because today we are going to talk about what to do so you can set yourself up for success before you talk to your potential client. I’m going to give you three tips on the mindset side, on the side how to prepare yourself, your physical body, and how to prepare your environment so that all of these things come together and that make or help you to make a big impact in the conversation with your potential client. What I see over and over again, especially when talking to my clients is that they are kind of nervous when a strategy call or a discovery call, or however you want to call the call that is coming up to find out if you are talking to your ideal client, or soulmate client, as I call them. What you can do is, or what you need to do in the situation is that you need to lead the call because the person reaching out for help wanting to figure out if they can work with you, have a challenge. Most likely you are the person that can help them to overcome the challenge. You also need to show up as the leader, even though you might not be as confident as you can be in these conversations, because sales still don’t feel like second nature. And you’re still working on figuring out how to make sales conversations, fun conversations. Here are the things you can do to put yourself into the right setting, to not worry about the conversation, but to really get excited.
We start with your mindset first. You set your intention, right? You want to be really, really clear, what is the intention for the call with the person that you probably don’t know yet. Set your intention and be really clear what you want it to be and that you are open to discovering if the person is a match. If they are wonderful, you will make an invitation. If they are not a perfect match for you, you will give them a resource you will give them some kind of value so that they can start working on their challenge and that they, no matter what, are better off after the conversation with you than they were before they entered the conversation.
Set your intention and show up with an open mind. Your goal should be to really make the invitation because you are the leader, you have something they need. So your goal is to make the invitation but you are not attached to the outcome. So in case, the client says, “No”, for whatever reason, you are fine. You don’t freak out. Just set that intention before you even go into the call. So you are kind of set up on the mindset side. You can play with your intention, you can really write it out like, “This is gonna be a fun call.” Maybe you journal a little bit or you meditate around it and really envision how much fun you will have for this person and the call, how you can support them and if it’s a fit, how you will make your offer.
The second step is creating an environment you feel wonderful in. For me that does include a desk that is clean, that is tidy, that has the papers in the right order, or maybe no papers at all. Make space in your environment for you to have the call. That might sound a little bit strange. But when your whole desk or your whole office is clutter, it’s kind of difficult with that energy in conversations. I’ve noticed it over and over again that whenever I really clean up my desk, and maybe I get myself some beautiful flowers or I put my favorite crystals or something that I enjoy having on my desk, it changes the energy. So if you are on the spiritual sales side, give it a try. Clean up your desk, put out your angel cards or whatever you have your crystals, get yourself some fresh flowers and really create an environment that you feel good in. That you also kind of a little bit of safety, because now you’re venturing out to talk to a stranger, right? And we want to make it fun. So get the desk in place, get your office in a place where you really enjoy coming in, where it represents the power to you.
I don’t mean power in a negative way. It’s more like empowering. We have that one, when we, for example, when we clean a room, and we get everything in order, and everything is tidy, like coming back into the room is a different feeling. It has a different energy and vibration. You want to bring that into your workplace so that you can show up as a leader in the conversation, and the energy in the room will help you to back it up. So that’s number two.
Number three is actually to get your physical body into state. This also has to do with the intention setting which was step number one. When you set the intention, you also want to make sure that you are not very to like, “Well, the person book? Will the person make an order? Will the person transfer the money?” Really be open to that and get yourself into a great state where you are looking forward to enjoying the conversation. So here are some things you can do. One would be, go for a walk in nature. Get yourself grounded before you pick up the phone, especially if you don’t feel good or if you are nervous, go outside, take some fresh air, move your body and you could also dance to your favorite music. Just you know, put your favorite music on, sing along, maybe just do something that lights you up, that shifts your energy into higher frequencies. That really gets you excited about the call. That kind of preps you to talk to the person that you probably don’t know yet. But that comes with a challenge and show up in that state where you are ready to serve them and to help them to overcome whatever they need to overcome with your products if it’s a fit. So a walk in nature would be dancing to your favorite music. You could just jump up and down. That would help put a big smile on your face. Watch something funny that makes you laugh or call a friend and tell each other a joke. Do anything that uplifts your energy. Never go into a call where you fear kind of down When you feel drained or tired, prep yourself, prep your body and your mind and get your environment ready so that you can show up as the authentic person that you want to show up as.
So you can do all of these things. Number one was, setting the intention, getting really clear, opening up your mind. Number two was, cleaning your environment, getting everything kind of tightened up, put fresh flowers or crystals or maybe you have essential oils or some incense you can burn. Do something that helps you feel wonderful in the room that you are in and that helps you to be empowered so you can show up as your authentic self and then get your body also in a state that you are energized. One more thing I want to add to get your body in the state is not just a walk for getting grounded, or dancing to your favorite music, it could also be meditating, or what you also could do as power posing. This might be interesting especially for you, if you’re a woman and listening, just google power posing and feel into it because as women, we are often taught to not take enough space or space in the room. We usually cross our legs and our arms, just try to take up more space in your own office. Power posing can be really, really powerful for you to get into the state.
