3 Key Points:

  • Often I find when I’m coaching either on my online programs or in one on one interactions with my clients, that the quality of questions they’re asking themselves is off a little bit. It’s not really aligned. And it’s not really, really empowering.
  • The ‘what if’ question itself is a pretty cool question. But taking it back to the past where you can’t change a single thing, because it’s done. I do not find that very helpful. Right? So the past is the past, and you can’t change anything. So the question would be better to ask, “What did I learn out of this?”
  • We need to leave our comfort zone, which I call even the death zone. Because if you don’t grow, you die, right? So like in nature, if something doesn’t grow, it basically dies. And I personally believe that’s true with humans as well, if they don’t grow if they don’t expand in their way of thinking in their personal development. If they just stay where they are, in their little space, they basically while they were still alive, they breathe, but they basically have died, they are just zombie walking in this world.

Show Notes:

[02:25]: There is a question “What if?” Well, you can use the what if question in two directions, you could turn back to the past, and you can say, “Well, what if I would have asked the client for the deal?” “What if they would have said yes?”

[03:24]: The question would be better to ask, “What did I learn out of this?” Often we think we did something wrong. And you know, sometimes that might also be the case. But in everything we do in wrong and everything or every situation where we feel we failed, it’s usually some golden nugget, there’s usually some learning of how to do things, or how to not, how not to do things.

[04:19]: If you are asking the question, ‘what if’ for the past, you will never, ever get an answer anyway. So for me, this feels like a lot of wasted time. And it is much better to ask, “What am I learning out of this situation?” “How would I do it differently next time?” “What would I need to do so that I get the desired outcome?”

[05:01]: Instead, the ‘what if’ question, I do really like for future projects, to direct our thinking into a way that is much more aligned, that shows you more of the amazing possibilities that are out there that you might not even be aware

[08:00]: Everything you do, there will be some kind of learning and usually, the biggest learnings we have the most growth we have, comes from situations that scare us, and that do not feel comfortable. So we need to leave our comfort zone.

[10:16]: And when you are willing and ready to do that, then you are in a place of power, you are in a place of inner knowing. So what if your sales game became easy? What if you could serve more people? What if you could ask your price? What if everything works out? Just sit down and joural on that and get really, really clear of where you would love to go, what you truly desire for your business, for your life? And then ask empowering question.

Hi Gorgeous! This is episode number 056. You are listening to Heart Sells! Podcast and I am your host Christine Schlonski, enjoy!

Christine Schlonski [0:14]
Today it is another variety Friday and I am so excited you are here, we are going to dive in deeper in to how to ask yourself the right questions so that your questions are empowering and supporting you in your life and in your business. So if you are new, this is variety Friday, the day on the podcast where I share my personal knowledge that I have acquired in over a decade and high ticket event sales over the phone, where I answer your questions or where I share amazing resources like last week, with The Go-Giver a book written by Bob Burg and John David Mann, that has really seriously influenced my life and changed my life. So if you want to know more, tune into episode 053.

Christine Schlonski [1:12]
If you have any questions, I am happy to answer them here on the podcast, you just need to write to info@christineschlonski.com. That’s info@christineschlonski.com, and I will get your question and I will answer them on this podcast. Because your question might be a question that a lot of people listening, asking themselves and need support with. And I’m happy to share my knowledge with you.

Christine Schlonski [1:46]
So let’s dive in. And today, today’s episode actually, which is about questions and the quality of questions you can ask yourself. Often I find when I’m coaching either on my online programs or in one on one interactions with my clients, that the quality of questions they’re asking themselves is off a little bit. It’s not really aligned. And it’s not really, really empowering. So let me give you an example. There is a question “What if?” Well, you can use the what if question in two directions, you could turn back to the past, and you can say, “Well, what if I would have asked the client for the deal?” “What if they would have said yes?” “What if they would have had the opportunity to work with me?” “What if I would have shown up at the networking event?” “What if you know my business would make more revenue?”

Christine Schlonski [2:59]
So, you know, the ‘what if’ question itself is a pretty cool question. But taking it back to the past where you can’t change a single thing, because it’s done. I do not find that very helpful. Right? So the past is the past, and you can’t change anything. So the question would be better to ask, “What did I learn out of this?” Often we think we did something wrong. And you know, sometimes that might also be the case. But in everything we do in wrong and everything or every situation where we feel we failed, it’s usually some golden nugget, there’s usually some learning of how to do things, or how to not, how not to do things. And usually you can get something out of it even though it really felt uncomfortable, or it was a really bad situation you were in or whatever it was, there is some kind of message that will help you grow.

Christine Schlonski [4:19]
So if you are asking the question, ‘what if’ for the past, you will never, ever get an answer anyway. So for me, this feels like a lot of wasted time. And it is much better to ask, “What am I learning out of this situation?” “How would I do it differently next time?” “What would I need to do so that I get the desired outcome?” And sometimes that can just be to set an intention to be really clear on your outcome. Because if you are not then, you know, it’s kind of hard to ask yourself the right questions.

Christine Schlonski [5:01]
Instead, the ‘what if’ question, I do really like for future projects, to direct our thinking into a way that is much more aligned, that shows you more of the amazing possibilities that are out there that you might not even be aware. So what if you are going to that networking event next week, that you are a little bit afraid of because you haven’t talked to so many people yet, or you are not really comfortable and making offers. But you know, it would be good to connect and to see where your ideal client, your tribe is hanging out. So you’re starting to evaluate opportunities so that you can take action. Well, what if you took that action? What if you are making that offer? What if the client says yes to you? What if you deliver on your promise, and you know, a client, a soulmate client becomes a real fan, promoting you and your work everywhere they go? What if you are really showing up as a strong leader you are, and people can see you and can come to you so that you can support them? What if your business really, really starts thriving? What if you are making that amount of money you truly desire to make? What if? Do you see the pattern? Do you see or do you hear how the what if question is different?

Christine Schlonski [6:48]
So I did it on purpose that I asked that question in a very positive way. Right? So what if the client says no, as like a negative way? But it’s possible. Well, then, what if the client says no to my offer? What if I would ask them why they said no? What if I could learn something out of that no, and out of that answer, to really understand the needs of my ideal clients? What if then I was able to tweak my product, and to present it in a way that is more aligned with my ideal client or that is even totally aligned with my ideal client? What if a know could turn into a yes, right? So this question is so powerful, even though we went on like a maybe a negative term. Like what if the client says no? Well, there’s also like, what if you feel like overwhelmed? What if you feel like you can’t deliver on your promise? What if what if, what if.

Christine Schlonski [7:56]
So, everything you do, there will be some kind of learning and usually, the biggest learnings we have the most growth we have, comes from situations that scare us, and that do not feel comfortable. So we need to leave our comfort zone, which I call even the death zone. Because if you don’t grow, you die, right? So like in nature, if something doesn’t grow, it basically dies. And I personally believe that’s true with humans as well, if they don’t grow, if they don’t expand in their way of thinking in their personal development. If they just stay where they are, in their little space, they they basically while they were still alive, they breathe, but they basically have died, they are just zombie walking in this world. I personally believe that. It’s all about personal growth. It’s all about the journey. And then the question is, what if we could create our world? What if we can determine our path? What if we can choose each and every moment? What if we own our power? What if we make decisions? Do you see how powerful that is? And how elevating and if you really dive into it, how it changes your energy?

Christine Schlonski [9:39]
So I really, really, really would love for you to go with that ‘what if’ question, and really explore possibilities because they are endless, countless possibilities available to you. And the question is, are you willing, and ready to make a decision? Are you willing and ready to choose? And once you’ve chosen, are you willing and ready to do what it takes as long as it takes until it’s done.

Christine Schlonski [10:16]
And when you are willing and ready to do that, then you are in a place of power, you are in a place of inner knowing. So what if your sales game became easy? What if you could serve more people? What if you could ask your price? What if everything works out? Just sit down and journal on that and get really, really clear of where you would love to go, what you truly desire for your business, for your life? And then ask empowering question. And if that is possible, who are you not to act upon it? And who are you to keep your gifts for yourself instead of sharing them with the world?

Christine Schlonski [11:16]
So make sure you are showing up for you and for your tribe. And you are sharing these wonderful, wonderful gifts. And a thing that I have been working on over the last weeks while probably even month, is something I would love to invite you today. It’s called the Sales Mentality Makeover Masterclass , and this is where I answered the question, “What if I got together amazing guest teachers sharing their success secrets with you?” What if I would offer this as an online class for free to support you on your journey? What if it was as successful as the first masterclass last year and the second masterclass last year? What if I could support you, your business, your lifestyle, to share your gifts with the world. So I’m inviting you today to hop on over to christineschlonski.com, and you will find that in the menu the Sales Mentality Makeover Masterclass number 3. It’s a very simple page, I invite you to put your email address and to sign up, so you get the notifications when we are starting.

Christine Schlonski [12:45]
And this is something where I will celebrate you and your gifts on April 30th, and I decided to do it via Facebook Live at Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany, where I’m going to pop a bottle of champagne with you virtually to celebrate your amazing gifts and your journey to celebrate everything you are ready have, and you are about to celebrate that we are growing together. So let me know, send me a message, or if you have any questions for the next variety Friday email to info@christineschlonski.com.

Christine Schlonski [13:58]
So if you like this podcast, if you’re all about giving your gifts because you are asking yourself the question, “What if I am showing up as a strong leader that I am?” “What if I can support hundreds, maybe thousands, 10-thousands, millions of people?” “What if, what if you can design your life?”
